Pat Funderburg's Exercise to Afro-Rhythms
Background Information
In 1986, Pat Funderburg designed "Exercise to Afro-Rhythms" to add variety to her demanding workout schedule. Affectionately known as "Afro-Rhythms," the class provides both graceful and powerful creative movements that give a challenging workout. The movements are modified for any level of fitness or presentation. This class combines Pat's love of dance with her commitment to fitness. She recalls the dance classes that moved her most always involved live drumming. The result is a fun invigorating workout that is "exercise to a different beat!"
Pat has taught fitness for over thirty years. Her husband, Ron, has played conga drums and percussion for over thirty years and has a strong training background. They decided to combine their talents and developed Pat Funderburg's Exercise to Afro-Rhythms as a fitness program with an africentric flavor that appeals to all cultures and ages.
Pat and Ron are available to do lectures and presentations on the importance of physical activity to one's wellness at any age for the prevention and management of health challenges, as well as drumming, percussion and song to enhance team building concepts.
