Pat is also a lifestyle coach and performer. Her primary focus is on fitness and wellness. She helps individuals become more empowered to take responsibility for their own health and physical fitness.
As a lifestyle coach, she helps clients achieve positive behavior change and maintain their health through primary prevention and chronic disease self-management. She has worked as the Director of the Near Eastside Healthy Lifestyle Center for the Central Ohio Diabetes Association as well as a primary prevention lifestyle coach for people with and at risk for diabetes.
As a fitness coach, she conducts both one-on-one and small group consultations. As a fitness instructor, she conducts large group fitness sessions. As a performer, she conducts interactive dance activities for a variety of occasions and events.
Pat is a certified group exercise instructor. Her background includes certifications and training through the Fitour, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the International Dance Exercise Association (formerly IDEA, now ACE), and the National Dance Exercise Instructors Training Association (NDEITA). Those certifications include Group Exercise Instructor, Dance Exercise and Personal Trainer.
She directed the adult aerobics program and trained instructors for YWorkout at the YWCA of Columbus for four years as fitness coordinator. Pat and her husband, Ron, also trained fitness instructors to teach Afro-Rhythms as part of a faith-based fitness program for the Bon Secour Hospital System in Portsmouth, Virginia. The training included team building and group leadership skills.
Pat has designed fitness programs for all age groups and fitness levels. These programs have included traditional aerobics, pre-natal, physically challenged, step and dance. She has worked with non-profit agencies, churches, state agencies, health clinics and performed at many conferences and health and wellness functions promoting the importance of incorporating fitness into one's lifestyle.
